How pipe brands move.

• What a “sold record” is. A source record marked sold, with a price on file. It may contain a confirmed transaction price, a dealer catalogue price when an entry was marked sold out, or an asking price retained after a listing was marked sold. A sold-out label alone does not confirm what was paid. The current dataset does not reliably distinguish these cases, so its totals are record counts, not verified transactions.
• Sold vs listed: the headline price is the typical (median) recent sold record where sold records exist; if we only have current asking prices, it reads listed instead. Sold records can still contain earlier asking prices. A median reduces sensitivity to extreme values but does not establish an individual item's value.
• Trend compares recorded prices for matching model names over time. Different condition, provenance and missing final prices can still affect the result. A dash means the available records do not meet the calculation's history requirements; it does not mean zero change. This is not a forecast.
• Sold records counts the records available to this Index, not every transaction in the market. Observation dates may differ from sale dates. Counts are affected by which sources have been collected and when.
• Market = includes external comps (eBay, estate dealers, auctions). Lounge = from our own listings and records marked sold. A brand needs at least three usable records to appear on this board. Prices are converted to CAD using approximate rates.
